more about yoga...
Yoga is an ancient and complex practice, rooted in Indian philosophy. It began as a spiritual practice
but has become popular as a way of promoting physical and mental well-being.
Although classical yoga also includes other elements, yoga as practiced in a group class typically
emphasizes physical postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), and meditation (dyana).
There are many different yoga styles, ranging from gentle practices to physically demanding ones.
Differences in the types of yoga used in research studies may affect study results. This makes it
challenging to evaluate research on the health effects of yoga. Yoga sometimes is called “meditative
movement” practice.
Some of the benefit of yoga: Studies have suggested possible benefits of yoga for several aspects of
wellness, including stress management, mental/emotional health, promoting healthy eating/activity
habits, sleep, and balance. Yoga is not a religion, it is a scientific discipline of physical, emotional,
mental, spiritual aspects of our being.

Yoga Hatha & Restorative - All Levels
This is a mix of both Gentle Hatha & Restorative Yoga. We will start class with a few Hatha asanas followed by a fully blissful Restorative poses preparing the mind to finish with a full mindfulness relaxation and deeper meditation experience.
This class is open to all levels but it is ideal for people with lower mobility and who wants a really
gently and slow pace Yoga class.
Especially for everyone who wants a really gentle approach to Yoga and Mindfulness, or wants to
boost mental health, and wants to take advantage of a truly relaxing and restorative session.
If you’re healing, exhausted, overworked, or stressed consider a class that hits the pause button.
Classes that fit into this category include Restorative, Hatha Level 1.
Restorative classes use bolsters, blankets, and blocks to prop students into passive poses so the
body can experience the benefits of a pose without having to exert any effort. Essential oils and
candles are part of our class too. A good restorative class is more rejuvenating than a nap.
Yoga hatha flow levels 1 & 2
Yoga Hatha Levels 1 & 2
This Hatha Flow Yoga Class appropriate for people with some previous experience in yoga. We start with an easy standing flow sequence to work and stretch the entire body. In the second half of the
class, we spend time on the floor with seating and lying down asanas with longer holds. There is a long Savasana & Meditation-Mindfulness and then we close the practice together.
All classes will have practice on breath work (pranayama), chanting, meditation and relaxation and
alignments cues.
A slower-paced flow is the perfect respite to counter the bustling activity of the workday. Plus, you won’t get sweaty or need to hit the shower if you keep the pace slow and simple.
This type of Yoga is like a moving meditation. Not only does it allow you to exercise every major
muscle group in the body, but it also allows you to connect with your breath, body, and mind.

Pregnancy, Yoga & Relaxation...
I am a mother of two beautiful girls so I can understand that this is the most important time of your life if not one of the most important. You only want the best for you and your future new bundle of joy. So I can also understand the importance of keeping up with a regular exercise program in pregnancy and of preparing your mind and your body over those nine months.
You need to keep up your strength for what’s coming and to help prepare your body for birth.
You can attend prenatal yoga from 12 weeks onwards.
I am certified and accredited by The Yoga Alliance Professionals and as well as having studies in pre and postnatal fitness classes and Yoga Therapy.
I have the understanding, knowledge and practical expertise which enables me to deliver a range of group or one-to-one classes for Pregnancy, Post-natal and Mother and Baby Yoga.
In this YOGA for Pregnancy classes course, there is a strong focus on the fundamentals of anatomy and physiology, including how these relate to asana, pranayama and mudra aspects of yoga throughout the pregnancy journey.
More about the course...
The course also offers a dedicated focus on Shakti, female
energetics which should be honored during times of conception, pregnancy, birth and during the
postnatal period.
Because pregnancy is a phase of life when the well-being of clients is of particular priority; relaxation, visualization, meditation and spiritual elements are also explored and practiced, this in return will help you to reduce stress and bring a sense of uplift and well-being to this magnificent time of your life. We will integrate yoga props and small equipment into the classes and one-to-ones to make them
more bespoke.
We can adapt the class for those with injuries and/or common ailments such as lower back pain,
pelvic girdle pain, low/high blood pressure and fatigue among others.
Individual Sessions - Personalized yoga therapy...
We provide one-to-one sessions as a form of YOGA Therapy. This is a specialized service to
work with an individual on a one-to-one basis.
Although all yoga is potentially therapeutic and healing, yoga therapy is the specific
application of yogic tools and scientific research and more—to address an individual’s
physical, mental, and emotional needs.
The yogic model of health is unique because it addresses every aspect of life rather than
considering each body part or system separately. Yoga therapy is a safe way of working with
the natural capacity of your body and mind to optimize well-being.
A general public yoga class can certainly ease everyday aches, pains, and mood
complaints. But a yoga therapy session goes much further because it is tailored to the
individual.
Certified Yoga Therapists go through extensive training of a minimum of 3 years and
examinations to be under the umbrella of the IAYT. (International Association of Yoga
Therapists). Paola Kennedy is the only Teacher in training with the IAYT in the Munster
Region.
